As I said, I love eggs but hate peeling them. The game changer for me was when I discovered how easy they are to make when made in the Instant Pot. It’s a snap. They come out perfect every time. Another thing I love? Eggs are zero Weight Watchers points.
I also love the various dishes one can create. I was making egg salad the other day for friends and instead of mayo, I used avocado and realized the two go hand-in-hand… so, this is what I had instead of the traditional egg salad I always make.

Here’s the Instant PotHolder shown above. It’s a 3-in-1 accessory: a trivet, a pot holder, and a jar opener. My mother, Bernice used to use something similar and when I couldn’t find the ones she used to love, I created them. I like them because they are thin but durable and use them everyday to remove the insert from the Instant Pot because I don’t like those thick, clunky silicone mitts. They’re also are great to use when removing items from the microwave, too.

Perfect Instant Pot Hard & Soft Boiled Eggs in 3-5 Minutes
I love eggs. Hard boiled or soft. Here’s an easy recipe to make them any way you want. Best part? Easy to peel. Ready in under 5 minutes.
- Cook Time: 3
- Total Time: 3 minutes
Ingredients
Eggs
Water
Instructions
Add 1 cup of water to the Instant Pot.
Add trivet.
Add eggs.
Close lid. Set valve to sealed.
Select High Pressure
Cook times:
3 minutes: soft boiled – quick release
5 minutes: hard boiled – (For hard boiled, I’ve done both a quick release and also a natural 5 minute release and both work.)
Quick release.
Place eggs in cold water/ice bath.
Peel and enjoy.
